Transition Tennessee Webcast: Equipping Your Schools with Transition Tennessee

January 29 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Last year, we launched Transition Tennessee (www.transitiontn.org), the state’s online home for training and resources on preparing students with disabilities for life after high school. We currently have eight courses available for free, addressing best practices and practical strategies for special educators, families, and other transition team members in the following areas:

  • Guiding Principles in Transition
  • Conducting Age-Appropriate Transition Assessment
  • Developing a High-Quality Transition Plan
  • Pathways to Employment
  • Pathways to Postsecondary Education
  • Pathways to Community Life
  • Pathways to Self-Determination
  • Accessing Supports and Partnerships in Your Community

Join us on January 29 at 3 PM CST for our first webcast addressing how your district and educators can use these strategies, resources, and ideas to support strong transitions for your students. You will also learn about the technical assistance, communities of practice, trainings, and other resources that will be available to districts through a new five-year partnership between Vanderbilt University and the Tennessee Department of Education. This is your chance to find out about forthcoming supports and share your input into their design.

Dr. Erik Carter, Professor of Special Education at Vanderbilt, will be leading the conversation. This will serve as the launch for a new monthly webcast focused on transition in Tennessee. We hope to see you there!
