The TennesseeWorks Partnership is a collaboration of organizations and agencies across the state that stand committed to increasing competitive employment for young people with disabilities. We strive to work in concert with one another to make a real difference in our state.

TennesseeWorks Partners

TennesseeWorks Partners provided letters of support and have agreed to participate and collaborate as outlined in a memorandum of understanding at the origination of the grant period. 

Disability Rights Tennessee
Disability Rights Tennessee advocates for the rights of Tennesseans with disabilities to ensure that they have an equal opportunity to be productive and respected members of our society.

Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities
The Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities is a state office that promotes public policies to increase and support the inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities in their communities. The Council works with public and private groups across Tennessee to find necessary supports for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Tennessee Department of Education
The Tennessee Department of Education strives to expand student access to effective teachers and leaders, family access to good schools, educator access to resources and best practices, and public access to information and data.

Tennessee Department of Human Services/Division of Rehabilitation Services
Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a federal and state-funded program providing services to help individuals with disabilities enter or return to employment. It is designed to assist individuals of work age with physical and/or mental disabilities compete successfully with others in earning a livelihood.

Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is responsible for providing services and supports to Tennesseans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DIDD provides services directly or through contracts with community providers in a variety of settings. These settings range from institutional care to individual supported living in the community.

Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development
The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development oversees programs and activities related to Tennessee businesses and employees, including One-Stop/Tennessee Career Centers. Disability Program Navigators increase the utility of the centers for persons with disabilities.

Tennessee Higher Education Commission
The Tennessee Higher Education Commission is the state’s coordinating agency for higher education. Guided by the Public Agenda for Tennessee Higher Education, THEC oversees an array of finance, academic, research and consumer protection initiatives that promote student success and support the State’s completion agenda for postsecondary education.

University of Tennessee Boling Center UCEDD
The Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities (BCDD) is an interdisciplinary program that supports children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families through training, service, applied research, information dissemination, planning, and policy development.

Center for Literacy, Education, & Employment, University of Tennessee Knoxville
The Center for Literacy, Education, & Employment is a nonprofit organization located within the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The Center supports continuous improvement in the fields of education and workforce development through training, resources, advocacy and research.

Vanderbilt Kennedy Center University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD)

The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) serves as the administrative lead for the TennesseeWorks partnership. As one of two UCEDDs in the state, they provide innovative leadership in education, research, and services to people with disabilities, the community, and families. Autism Tennessee
Autism Tennessee (formerly the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee) is the voice of the autism community in Middle Tennessee. Their mission is to enrich the lives and experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum, their families, and their surrounding community through support, advocacy, and education.

The Arc Tennessee
The Arc Tennessee is a grassroots, non-profit, statewide organization on intellectual and developmental disabilities. They advocate for the rights and full participation of all people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee
The Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee is a community of individuals with Down Syndrome, self-advocates and their families, educators, and disability professionals. They strive to be the first and primary resource in Middle Tennessee for accurate and up-to-date information on Down Syndrome, connecting hundreds of families to support, programs, education, advocacy, and other families.

Tennessee Disability Coalition
The Coalition is an alliance of organizations and individuals who have joined to promote the full and equal participation of men, women, and children with disabilities in all aspects of life.

Direct Support Professionals Association of Tennessee
The purpose and activity of Direct Support Professionals Association of Tennessee is to improve the quality of human  services and supports.

Empower Tennessee
Empower Tennessee is a non-profit agency which guides people with various disabilities to agencies and services that will help bring about the most independent lifestyle. They provide persons with disabilities opportunities to be self-advocates, make their own decisions regarding living arrangements, means of transportation, employment, social and recreational activities, as well as other aspects of everyday life.

United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee
United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee serves Tennessee with programs targeted at their mission to advance the independence and full citizenship of people with disabilities. We provide services to individuals of all ages who have a variety of disabilities with focus on disabilities that primarily affect mobility.

Tennessee Community Organizations
Tennessee Community Organizations is a professional trade organization for Home and Community Based Services Providers. Their goal is to empower member agencies and the communities they serve with beneficial communications, educational training, networking and advocacy opportunities.

Tennessee Allies in Self-Advocacy
Tennessee Allies in Self-Advocacy is a statewide network of individuals with disabilities and agencies committed to strengthening and enhancing self-advocacy among people with disabilities.

Tennessee Association of Microboards and Cooperatives, Inc. 
The Tennessee Association of Microboards and Cooperatives, Inc. is a 501 c(6) non-profit organization that provides support and training to individual microboards and cooperatives across the state. The Association is committed to the development of high quality, comprehensive services and supports to children and adults with disabilities in a manner that fosters self-determination and inclusion.

People First of Tennessee
People First of Tennessee is a non-profit, self-advocacy organization run by and for people with disabilities. Its mission is to provide an outlet for people with disabilities to air and alleviate their concerns about disability related issues and work together to address those issues.

Disability Coalition on Education
The Disability Coalition on Education is a statewide alliance of families, agencies and advocacy organizations working together to improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities.

Support and Training for Exceptional Parents (STEP), Inc.
Support and Training for Exceptional Parents (STEP), Inc. empowers parents through information, training, and support to become effective partners with professionals in planning appropriate educational programs for their children.

Disability Policy Alliance of Tennessee
The Disability Policy Alliance of Tennessee is a collaborative group comprised of members from the following organizations: Statewide Independent Living Council, The Arc Tennessee, Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities, Disability Law and Advocacy Center of Tennessee, and United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee.
